The final version of the 2013
MotoGP World Championship calendar looks to be in place, following confirmation of
Jerez and a date shift for Sachsenring.
Jerez, home of the Spanish Grand Prix and one of the most well attended events of the year, had been listed as 'subject to contract'. That contract extension has now been agreed, until at least 2015.
"It's with great pleasure that I can announce the extension of the
Jerez Grand Prix for a further three years," said Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta.
"It is one of the key stops on the
MotoGP calendar with an atmosphere bar none that attracts huge crowds from near and afar.
"It is also a popular venue with the riders, as the track's nature makes it a great spectacle for some of the best racing in the world."
Meanwhile, as predicted, the German
MotoGP at Sachsenring has been moved back by one week to July 14, in order to avoid a clash with the German F1 Grand Prix...
