Ultimate 2012 Rider of the Day revealed

Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa each voted your Rider of the Day five times during the 2012 MotoGP season.
Crash.net viewers voted Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa as their Rider of the Day five times each during the 2012 MotoGP season.

Voting in polls set-up immediately after each of the 18 rounds, the Repsol Honda team-mates emerged with the highest tally. Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi were next best with three poll wins apiece.

Surprisingly, world champion Jorge Lorenzo was voted Rider of the Day just once, for his dominant home victory at Catalunya. Overall, the race-winning rider was voted Rider of the Day on ten occasions.

Katsuyuki Nakasuga was the only wild-card/substitute rider to win a Rider of the Day accolade, due to his shock second place in the Valencia finale.

Will the Rider of the Day results replicate voting for your MotoGP Rider of the Year?

You'll find out soon, with the top ten countdown starting on December 22nd. But we can reveal that two factory riders haven't made the top ten...

Even though I'm rightly a Stoner/Lorenzo fan, Pedrosa rightly deserve the title of ROTD/ROTY. Why? To simpily put it, its not because he has been so underrated throughout his entire GP career, however the fact that Dani in 2012 really showed himself to be a very competitive rider. If anything I hope Dani steps it up in 2013
