Lukas Pesek is the latest rider to be linked with the last remaining 'to be confirmed' place on the 2013 MotoGP grid.

The ride - on a CRT-spec BMW-Suter at IodaRacing, alongside the retained Danilo Petrucci - was initially earmarked for Roberto Rolfo, but the deal fell through and former MotoGP winner Chris Vermeulen was subsequently reported to have shown an interest.

However states that negotiations have broken down due to Ioda requiring a pay rider, able to bring around 220,000 euros to the team.

Pesek, a full-time grand prix rider from 2004 until midway through 2010, has now moved into contention.

The Czech's best GP season was in the 2007 125cc championship, when he took six podiums including two wins for fourth overall. Pesek has since raced in the German Superbike and Supersport series.

As well as its expanding CRT MotoGP presence, Ioda will continue in Moto2 next year with new signing Johann Zarco. However Ioda's Moto3 project has been dropped.
