Pesek gets Ioda place, 2013 MotoGP grid complete
Lukas Pesek has been confirmed as the 24th and final full time rider on the 2013 MotoGP grid.

The Czech, out of grand prix action since departing the Moto2 class in 2010, has been named as riding the second Suter-BMW at IodaRacing, alongside the retained Danilo Petrucci.

"I'm very happy to get this opportunity," said Pesek. "I have to thank Giampiero Sacchi, with whom I share some great memories of my 125cc years.

"Racing in MotoGP is definitely not an easy task, I'll be up against the best riders in the world - it's a big step for sure but I'll give my best!"

MotoGP rookie Pesek was a full-time grand prix rider from 2004 until midway through 2010 in the smaller categories.

His best GP season was the 2007 125cc championship, when he took six podiums including two wins for fourth overall with Derbi. Pesek has recently raced in the German Superbike and Supersport series.

"Lukas's return is very welcome - he wrote some great pages of Derbi's history in 125cc working alongside some of our current team members," said IodaRacing Project boss Sacchi. "It's a tough challenge lying ahead of him but I'm sure he can do well in the premier class."

As well as its expanding CRT MotoGP presence, Ioda will continue in Moto2 next year with new signing Johann Zarco. However Ioda's Moto3 project has been dropped.

Ioda's second MotoGP seat - which had been the only 'to be confirmed' place on the provisional entry list - was initially planned for Roberto Rolfo, with Chris Vermeulen later linked to the ride.

Ioda will be the only team running the Suter-BMW in 2013, having joined Forward Racing on the machinery midway through the 2012 season. Forward is changing to FTR-Kawasakis.

Petrucci took a best finish of eighth in the wet/dry Valencia finale.

Surely wasn't there anyone more deserving? Pesek took a total of 5 points in his Moto2 career, and he didn't race world level in the past 2 years except a few Supersport races. I think he will last 3-4 races.
