QUIZ: Looking back at 2012 in MotoGP

Jorge Lorenzo managed to hold off Dani Pedrosa to win the 2012 MotoGP championship - but who is going to prove to be the quiz champion of the year? See how you fare in our season review by CLICKING HERE!
On the track, it all came down to a two-man shootout between Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, and when the Repsol Honda rider crashed out on lap 2 in the penultimate race of the season at Phillip Island it was Yamaha's Lorenzo who clinched his second MotoGP title.

But there was also plenty happening away from the front, with Valentino Rossi slogging through a second year of purgatory at Ducati, to the shock announcement from Casey Stoner that he was quitting the sport. Sadly the two-time champion wouldn't go out on a blaze of glory, his bid for a third title undone by a broken ankle at Indianapolis in the summer.

That's the highlights, but how much more did you pick up about the events of 2012? Did you spot who else led laps during the season apart from Lorenzo and Pedrosa? Who was able to put in fastest laps on race day? Which races saw the highest and lowest number of retirements all season?

If you think you know the answers - or simply want to find out! - then our season review quiz of 2012 is just the thing for you, with the folks at Crash.net having racked their brains for a selection of ten questions to take you on a brisk tour of the year's events.

lctanner.I can think of an Italian rider who should be sent to the Hague for crimes against Ducati over the last two years. Single handedly destroyed the reputation of a great bike manufacturer in one fell swoop.Criminal.
