Despite being announced as riding the second IodaRacing CRT MotoGP machine, the last 'to be announced' place on the 2013 grid, Lukas Pesek has revealed he still needs to source the necessary funds - rumoured to be in the region of 200,000 Euros.

"I still do not have it all, but we're working on it,” Czech website motogpnews.cz quote Pesek as saying. “In a few days to [raise all the money] is not so simple.”

Nevertheless Pesek is confident he will be able to fulfil his contractual obligations and line-up on Suter-BMW machinery alongside team-mate Danilo Petrucci.

"It's nice when you sign a contract with someone and he just does not tell you much, but welcome to the family," Pesek said of the agreement with Ioda team boss Giampiero Sacchi, whom he rode for in 125.

"It is nice and I hope that it will work... I'm looking forward to the atmosphere in MotoGP."

If Pesek meets his financial obligations he will be the second Czech rider on the grid alongside Karel Abraham, who is switching from Ducati to ART machinery.

Pesek's previous best world championship season was a fourth overall in 2007 in the 125cc class for Derbi. He moved away from grand prix midway through the 2010 campaign and has since participated in the German Superbike and Supersport series.

The Ioda Racing seat was previously linked to both Roberto Rolfo and Chris Vermeulen, with the latter alleged to have pulled away from negotiations when it became clear that Ioda needed a rider with funds.

It's always strange to read that a rider has a contract with a team when the rider has to pay for his ride, it looks more like that the team has a contract with a rider. And what when the **** hits the fan? Pesek is out of MotoGP although all the things that Dorna have tried to make MotoGP cheaper they have made things worse.
MotoGP is stuck on a level with bad rules, decisions and technical regulations.
