Moto2: Official engines for final test
An additional unknown when following Moto2 winter testing is the different specification of engines being used throughout the grid.

Moto2 is the only grand prix class featuring a control Honda engine supply, maintained and allocated by Geo Technology. However teams must source their own engines for part of winter testing, including the present three-day outing at Jerez.

Engines chosen could range from former official race engines to highly-tuned WSS-spec CBR600s.

Ian Wheeler, press manager for the Marc VDS team of Scott Redding and Mika Kallio, explained the current situation to Crash.net:

"We only get the race engines for the final test at Jerez next month. For the first two official tests [Valencia and Jerez] the teams use their own engines.

"Like a lot of teams Marc VDS run ex-race engines bought from Geo. Although they are not exactly the same spec as the race engine, they produce the same power, so are perfect for testing as close to race spec as possible.

"Other teams run CBR600 engines in various states of tune."

I wonder who has MM 2012 Suter? I was wondering if Terol got it because he is just fast out of the blue. He had 1 wet podium at Valencia and all of a sudden he is pacing testing. The thing is I like Terol and hope he takes the fight to Pol this year along with the rest. His sudden form just surprise me. I guess that podium lit his fire....
