Pedrosa underscores Sepang superiority
Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa picked up where he left off at Sepang as the MotoGP title contender assumed his now-familiar position at the top of the pre-season timesheets in Malaysia.

Pedrosa set the fastest lap on his RC213V in 2m 01.580s before heavy rain in the afternoon saw the first day of the second Sepang test cut short.

The Spaniard's benchmark lap was considerably slower than his best of 2m 0.100s set on the third day of the first test at Sepang two weeks ago after rain heavy rain during the past few days left the circuit with diminished adhesion.

His fastest time was 0.235s faster than reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo's quickest Tuesday lap on the factory Yamaha M1.

Pedrosa, who focused mainly on corner entry and the suspension and engine mapping, completed 43 laps before the rain stopped play.

“Today we continued trying things out with the bike here in Sepang, focusing most of all on suspension,” he said.

“We also worked a little on the electronics. The track wasn't 100% after the rainfall from the past few days, but we were able to ride well.

“In the afternoon it rained again, and we used this to perform some laps in the wet,” added Pedrosa.

“Tomorrow we will continue with the work that we have scheduled.”

I can't really judge over testing but to me Pedrosa looks damn good, scarily good. He's topping just about every session. While testing doesn't mean everything it seems to be showing that Pedrosa hasn't lost any of that extra quality he seemed to get out of nowhere towards the middle of last season.
