MOTOGP » Marquez signs off in Sepang in style

'In the final hour we set the bike up the way we had been fastest at this test, and I think that we got a good time again with it' - Marc Marquez
Action man Marquez completes Repsol one-two
MotoGP sensation Marc Marquez snatched second place on the final day of the Sepang test to complete a Repsol Honda one-two at the top of the time sheets.

Marquez signed off in style at Sepang, closing to within 0.081s of team-mate Dani Pedrosa with a hot time on his final lap of 2m 00.643s.

The all action Moto2 world champion shrugged off the effects of two small crashes to wrap up the second pre-season test in Malaysia on a positive note as he continues to enhance his credentials ahead of his rookie year in the blue riband class.

Marquez fell at turn 12 in wet conditions in the morning and again went down on a dry track at turn 9 later in the afternoon, but was clearly unaffected by either setback.

He focused his attention on the Honda's electronics and set-up and was upbeat over his performance at the conclusion of the three-day shakedown.

“It's been a good day, overall. In the morning we rode in the wet and I felt very good on the bike, even though I had a small crash,” Marquez said.

“I clipped the white line and lost the front, but neither myself nor the bike were affected at all.

“When the track dried out we went back to our work on the electronics and with the bike setup -above all with the front.

“On the initial laps I didn't feel completely comfortable with the front end and had another small crash at the hairpin when I was forcing it a bit too much,” he added.

“In the final hour we set the bike up the way we had been fastest at this test, and I think that we got a good time again with it.

“We can leave here feeling positive about how things went.”

The Repsol Honda team will be back in action in less than two weeks' time at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for a further three-day test.

Can't be true Marc, according to the Rossi fans on here , Rossi was the only rider testing, everyone one else was out trying for a fast lap
