Scott Redding plans to use this week's final pre-season test at Jerez to refine his riding style on the 2013 Kalex.
The Marc VDS rider was third overall at the previous Jerez outing, with this week's return marking the first time the official 2013 race engines will be used.
"We've been building up over the last two tests, trying a lot of different things on the bike and finding a good direction with the set up,” said Redding, preparing to enter his fourth season in the intermediate grand prix class.
“At this final test in Jerez we won't change so much on the bike, leaving me to work on refining my riding style to get the most from the bike. If the feeling is good then I'll be pushing for lap times at the end of each day, but we'll have to see how it goes.
“I head to Jerez with some confidence after my times in the wet and the dry there last time out, but there's always room for improvement and that's exactly what we'll be looking for next week."
The Jerez II test, which runs for four days, gets underway at midday today (Monday). The Moto3 class will also be on track, with MotoGP taking over at the Spanish circuit from March 23-25.
2012 Moto2 title runner-up Pol Espargaro (Pons Kalex) has been fastest at the two previous official tests, at Valencia and Jerez I.
