Moto3: Salom signs off on top in Spain
Red Bull KTM Ajo's Luis Salom ended the last day of the final pre-season test at the top of the times.

Salom's best lap in 1m 46.374s stands as the quickest time overall of the shakedown at Jerez in Spain, 0.229s ahead of fellow Moto3 title contender Maverick Vinales, who was ruled out after sustaining a finger injury on Wednesday afternoon after coming off his Laglisse KTM.

For Salom, it was the perfect build up to next month's opening world championship round in Qatar non April 7.

“I think we have done a good job and we can be happy with our efforts this winter, as now we are beginning to see the results,” he said.

“I am very grateful to the team for their work over these days.

“We also got the fastest time today, which we had been hoping for,” added Salom.

“I leave here happy and grateful to the team for their confidence in me, and the opportunity that they have given me.

“Now I am focusing on preparing myself and I know that we can do a good job in Qatar.”

Estrella Galicia KTM duo Alex Rins (1m 46.610s) and Alex Marquez (1m 46.986s) were second and third fastest respectively on Thursday ahead of Miguel Oliveira, Jonas Folger and Niccolo Antonelli.

Salom's team-mates, Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Arthur Sissis, were ninth and 13th on the final day of the test.

Espargaro, Salom, Vinales, etc.

Riders that will be ready for the "premier class" by 2014 and will have to stick with Moto2 or ride a CRT as grid fillers because the only 4 bikes that can win a race are taken.

Even though I think Pedrosa's and Rossi seats will be up for grabs very soon. Dorna permitting of course.
