Lorenzo 'a little nervous;

"Like every year you feel a little nervous at the beginning, it's so important to start in a good way and get some points!" - Jorge Lorenzo.
The pace-setting performance by Yamaha during this week's final pre-season test at Jerez was the perfect tonic for Jorge Lorenzo after a difficult private test relative to the Honda riders at Austin.

But the reigning double world champion still admits to feeling 'a little nervous' heading into his sixth season of MotoGP, which starts in Qatar on April 7.

Lorenzo finished a close third overall at Jerez, just 0.029s from fastest man Cal Crutchlow of Tech 3 Yamaha, with factory team-mate Valentino Rossi in-between. Lorenzo and Rossi both set their best times on Sunday's second day, but Lorenzo again delivered a storming race simulation on the final day.

“We didn't think we would practice so much today because the weather was so bad but finally we had two hours to practice and improve some things on the bike,” said the Spaniard.

“I made a long run that I think was positive to understand the behaviour of the bike with old tyres. We are not the fastest but I think we are very consistent.

“It's been a positive test for us to gain some motivation after Austin; that was a difficult three days. It shows that every track is a different world so let's see what happens in Qatar. There can be a lot of sand on the track there so we'll see how it is.

He didn't say he's nervous because of any other competitor. Lorenzo is just nervous before the first race which is normal. I'm sure they all have "butterflies" in their gut regarding Qatar. There at least 5 riders able to put their bikes on the podium but only 3 places. They're all nervous :)
