Austin MotoGP: Highside for Marquez at start of FP3

20 April 2013

MotoGP man of then moment Marc Marquez suffered a nasty highside in the opening minutes of Saturday morning practice at Austin, Texas.

The Repsol Honda rookie, unbeaten at COTA throughout three days of private testing and day one of the inaugural grand prix, was thrown from his RCV on entry to the penultimate, left-hand corner on his out lap.

The 20-year-old Moto2 champion - who appears to have been caught out by the cool conditions, losing the front and then the rear - was slow to get up after sliding into the gravel, but eventually limped away.

Marquez made it back to the pits with 36 of the 45 minutes to go.
