Lorenzo best of weekend in final practice

Jorge Lorenzo fastest during Free Practice (4) for the French MotoGP at Le Mans. Marc Marquez falls. Session briefly red flagged by Cal Crutchlow accident.
Jorge Lorenzo put Yamaha on top of the Le Mans timesheets for the first time this weekend, during the 30-minute fourth and final practice for the French MotoGP.

The reigning double champion finished the session with a 0.309s advantage over rookie title leader Marc Marquez, who lowsided at the end of the session.

Third fastest was Marquez's Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa (+0.437s) with Lorenzo's team-mate Valentino Rossi in fourth by 0.8s from the top.

LCR Honda Stefan Bradl and Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso were the final riders within one-second of the #99.

The session had been halted after five minutes following a highside for Cal Crutchlow (see separate story). The Englishman was able to return after the restart, but ran wide several times and pulled in early on his way to seventh place for the local Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team.

Alvaro Bautista (Gresini Honda), Bradley Smith (Tech 3) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati) completed the top ten.

Despite the gathering clouds, the session remained dry.

Qualifying 1 will now get underway, with riders outside the top ten after third practice fighting over the last two places in Qualifying 2. Both qualifying sessions last for just 15 minutes.
