de Puniet raises home spirits in Q1

Randy de Puniet fastest during Qualifying (1) for the French MotoGP at Le Mans.
Local star Randy de Puniet pleased the home fans by leading Qualifying 1 for the French MotoGP at Le Mans.

de Puniet finished the session 0.178s ahead of Aspar Aprilia team-mate Aleix Espargaro.

The CRT pair will now join the top ten riders after third practice in the Qualifying 2 pole position shootout.

The manufacturer riders missing out on a place in Q2 will be Pramac Ducati's team-mates Andrea Iannone (+0.347s) and Michele Pirro (+0.513s), third and fourth in Q1.
