Mugello: Series lead a 'special feeling' for Pedrosa

28 May 2013

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa intends to hold on to the 'special feeling' of leading the MotoGP World Championship as he turns his focus to this weekend's Italian MotoGP at Mugello.

Pedrosa was an impressive winner in round four at Le Mans in France in the wet, with the victory taking the Spaniard to the pinnacle of the standings by six points from team-mate and series rookie Marc Marquez.

He has previously won in the premier class at Mugello in 2010 and also tasted success in the 250cc class and Pedrosa is feeling optimistic he can pick up where he left off in France this weekend.

“After a the race in Le Mans, I've managed to relax this week and I feel good physically.

“Mugello is a nice track and one that I really enjoy to ride. It's a fast track with long corners so it's important to have a good feeling with the bike,” said Pedrosa.

“Usually the weather is good to us and there is a great atmosphere with all the fans there.

“I am leading the championship which is very special so I hope we can arrive in Mugello and that the bike works well there too and we can do a good race!”
