Valentino Rossi joked about repeating his memorable 2009 last turn victory pass on Jorge Lorenzo (pictured) in this weekend's Catalunya MotoGP.
"If Jorge waits for me, yes!" laughed Rossi, during Thursday's pre-event press conference. "He's too fast!"
Rossi and Lorenzo have been reunited as Yamaha team-mates this season, but the young Spaniard has finished ahead of Rossi in all five rounds so far.
"I'm sorry I cannot wait!" smiled Lorenzo, also at the press event. "But maybe you are faster than me this weekend..."
Rossi has finished on the podium once this season, a second place in Qatar, while Lorenzo has four podiums including two wins.
Lorenzo will certainly be hoping for a more successful home event than Rossi experienced in front of his home fans last time at Mugello, when he clashed with Alvaro Bautista and fell hard on the opening lap.
"On Monday it was hard to get out of bed. A lot of pain everywhere but after I was ok, just a pain in the arse - ideologically and also physically because I hurt my arse!" said the seven time MotoGP champion.
Lorenzo also caused laughter in the conference, when the Spanish riders were asked if their fans had anything special planned this weekend.
"Just normal things as every year here. My fans will be together in some corners. Maybe they will bring some presents, some girls or some boys..."
Releasing his comment might be misunderstood, Lorenzo clarified: "I didn't mean a girl as a present - a girl gives me a present, not the present will be a girl!"
