MotoGP back on live TV in New Zealand

5 July 2013

Live MotoGP will return to TV screens in New Zealand following a new deal between Dorna and free-to-air newcomer Sommet Sports.

Launching on Freeview in July, Sommet Sports will carry live coverage of every remaining round of the 2013 MotoGP championship.

MotoGP in New Zealand had previously been on subscription channel SKY, which had failed to reach a new agreement with Dorna, causing Kiwis to miss out on this year's events to date.

"We look forward to starting our new cooperation with Sommet Sports at such an exciting point in the Championship,” said Manel Arroyo, Dorna's Managing Director Media Area.

“After working hard over the past few months, we are very pleased to have secured this agreement which will mean that MotoGP fans in New Zealand will be able to watch the remainder of the 2013 season live on free-to-air television.”
