2014 MotoGP rider contracts

11 July 2013

With the MotoGP summer break a little over a week away, riders without a 2014 contract will soon start putting pen to paper.

As the list below shows, with most top riders already signed to two-year deals, 2013 is set to a relatively quiet year in terms of team changes at the front of the grid - with all attention focussed on the factory Ducati and Tech 3 Yamaha seats.

Much will depend on the decision of top satellite rider Cal Crutchlow, who must weigh-up remaining at Tech 3 for a fourth season or pursuing full factory status at Ducati.

Nicky Hayden is rumoured to have offers in WSBK, although the 2006 world champion may take some tempting having always insisted that his plan is to remain in MotoGP.

Adding to the Tech 3 conundrum is that Moto2 star Pol Espargaro is already believed to have signed some form of contract with Yamaha. Espargaro's Moto2 rival, and championship leader, Scott Redding is also expected to make the step-up to the premier-class next year, with rumoured options at Ducati, Gresini Honda or his present Marc VDS team...
