German MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa to miss Sachsenring qualifying

“It has been confirmed Pedrosa suffered a small collarbone fracture and will try to race if he feels fit enough.”
UPDATE 2: Dani Pedrosa is now back at the circuit, but will not ride in qualifying.

Pedrosa's left arm is being supported by a sling and his condition will be 'reviewed' for the race.

Official MotoGP website: "It has been confirmed Pedrosa suffered a small collarbone fracture and will try to race if he feels fit enough."

UPDATE 1: Repsol: 'Dr Charte: "Pedrosa doesn't have any internal injuries. There could be a small collarbone fracture/crack. We have to look at the x-rays again" '

MotoGP title leader Dani Pedrosa will miss Saturday's qualifying session for the German Grand Prix.

The Repsol Honda star was flown to hospital for further checks after a huge morning highside at the Sachsenring.

The results of those tests are not yet known, but the official MotoGP website has confirmed: "Dani Pedrosa awaits results of latest medical checks at Chemnitz hospital and will miss this afternoon's qualifying session."

Medical Centre X-rays had reduced initial fears of a broken collarbone and attention seemed to switch to a possible concussion.

If he is fit, Pedrosa would be able to start from twelfth on the grid despite missing qualifying, due to his free practice time granting him an automatic place in Q2.

Pedrosa suffered his accident just one day after nearest title rival Jorge Lorenzo withdrew after re-damaging his newly broken collarbone. Pedrosa leads the standings by nine point from reigning champion Lorenzo, with Pedrosa's team-mate Marc Marquez 23 points from the top.

Lorenzo underwent collarbone surgery, for the second time in two weeks, in Barcelona this morning.

Is not really a Pedrosa fan but feel bad about him going down like that. If he doesn't race in Sachsenring or the following race due to this accident it will be a 4-way fight to the title come Oct/Nov timeframe.
