Rookie MotoGP title leader Marc Marquez defied another cool and misty morning at Laguna Seca to set the fastest lap of the US GP weekend so far.

Quickest on Friday, his very first day of riding at Laguna Seca, Marquez smashed the 1m 22s barrier midway through the Saturday session, putting him 0.6s clear.

That advantage was eventually cut down to 0.184s by Factory Yamaha's Valentino Rossi in the final minute, with LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl, runner-up to Marquez on Friday, in third (+0.391s).
