Forward Racing owner Giovanni Cuzari has told the official MotoGP website that he is "speaking with Nicky Hayden, Aleix Espargaro and Jonathan Rea" - in addition to present riders Colin Edwards and Claudio Corti - about the team's 2014 privateer Yamahas.
2006 world champion Hayden, who has lost his factory Ducati seat to Cal Crutchlow, is also on the wish list of the LCR team, to ride the new Production (Privateer) Honda.
Aleix Espargaro, older brother of 2014 Tech 3 rider Pol, is the reigning CRT champion for Aspar and leads this year's privateer standings, while Honda WSBK star Rea made his MotoGP debut as a stand-in for the injured Casey Stoner last season. Rea has also been linked with a 2014 Production Honda ride.
Cuzari confirmed that the package to be leased from Yamaha, originally tabbed as just an M1 engine supply, will include everything but the fairings.
As required by the privateer rules, the two Forward Yamahas will also run the full control ECU system (hardware and software) but be eligible for extra fuel and engine changes relative to the factory bikes.
Forward Racing currently runs an FTR-Kawasaki package.
