MotoGP championship leader Marc Marquez says he is unworried after finishing FP2 this afternoon in fifth place on the Repsol Honda.
Marquez arrived at Brno in the Czech Republic on a high after winning the last three races to seize a 21-point lead at the head of the standings.
The young MotoGP sensation has become accustomed to running in the top tier positions during practice but Marquez is confident he will climb the leaderboard tomorrow.
His fastest lap of 1m 56.733s was only 0.233s slower than Stefan Bradl's time on the LCR Honda.
“I felt really good from the start, which is good news,” said Marquez. I thought it would take a little more time and that we would be further behind Jorge [Lorenzo] and Valentino [Rossi], as they have tested at this circuit recently.
“In general, the feeling was good but there are still aspects of the set-up where we can improve a lot, which will hopefully give us more comfort and in the end more speed.
“I'm not worried – we know that tomorrow the times will come down, but we must continue working in the same way and focus, because we know that we can perfect the set-up.”
