MotoGP hot-shot Marc Marquez expects Jorge Lorenzo to provide stern opposition at Silverstone this weekend but the Repsol Honda rider believes he can maintain his winning momentum.

The young Spaniard leads the championship standings after rattling off four straight wins to emerge as favourite to lift the premier class world crown in his rookie season.

Marquez is riding on the crest of a wave and although he believes Factory Yamaha exponent Lorenzo will be 'strong' at the British track, the 20-year-old's confidence is sky high.

A former winner at Silverstone in the 125cc class, Marquez said: "We will see how Silverstone is with MotoGP, in 125cc I enjoyed it a lot but in Moto2 I struggled a little.

"I think a key factor will be the weather there as it can change quite a lot. Last year Lorenzo had a very good race so I am sure he will be strong.

"But we are coming off four victories in a row, we have good momentum and I feel really comfortable and confident on the bike.

"Let's see how the situation is when we get there and as always work hard from Friday morning," added Marquez, who held off a late surge by team-mate Dani Pedrosa to triumph at Brno.
