Jordi Torres will remain as team-mate to Nico Terol at Aspar for the 2014 Moto2 World Championship.

After partial Moto2 campaigns in 2011 and 2012, the 27-year-old Spaniard got a full season chance with Aspar this year, claiming a debut win - and podium - at the Sachsenring.

Torres is presently eleventh in the championship standings, two places behind countryman Terol. The Aspar riders are the only race winners with the Suter chassis so far this year.

"We are really pleased that we'll have Jordi with us again next season. He was Spanish champion and European champion in recent seasons and has taken a big step forward in the World Championship this year," said Jorge Mart?nez 'Aspar'.

"With the potential he is showing I'm sure that we will see him fighting for the podium on a regular basis next year and he could fight for the Moto2 title. We have seen his winning potential in races this year. Obviously he won at Sachsenring and has shown great pace at other rounds too.

"The technical team work closely with him every day and the bike is developing. There are still areas for improvement but we are on the right path. With Jordi Torres and Nico Terol as our two riders next year we should be amongst the title candidates right from the start."
