Six rounds to go and rookie Marc Marquez holds a 30-point lead at the top of the MotoGP standings over Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa, with reigning title holder Jorge Lorenzo 39 points behind.
150 points remain available between now and the Valencia finale, meaning the top nine riders in the championship still have a mathematical chance.
But realistically the title chase is between the three Spaniards - fourth place Valentino Rossi, the only other rider to win a race this year, is 77 points (more than three race wins) behind Marquez.
Marquez has won five races so far this season, and finished on the podium ten out of eleven times, despite a shoulder injury last Sunday at Silverstone.
Lorenzo and Pedrosa have both missed one race due to collarbone fractures but are now close to full fitness once again, with Yamaha star Lorenzo winning the British GP to claim his first victory since Catalunya in June.
Lorenzo has taken four wins in 2013, with Pedrosa victorious twice this year. Both have taken eight podiums.
But who will be champion?
Will Marquez hold on to become the first rookie title winner since 'King' Kenny Roberts in 1978? Will Pedrosa turn things around and finally claim his first premier-class title? Or will Lorenzo bridge the gap to lift his third MotoGP crown?
