Marquez: Hopefully I'll be almost 100%...

10 September 2013

After putting up a stunning victory challenge, just hours after dislocating his left shoulder at Silverstone, rookie MotoGP title leader Marc Marquez hopes to be 'almost 100%' fit for this weekend's San Marino round.

The 20-year-old Repsol Honda star only lost out to reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo at the penultimate turn of the British GP, but still extended his points advantage to 30 by finishing ahead of team-mate and nearest title rival Dani Pedrosa.

“I'm already feeling much better since my accident in Silverstone, so hopefully I'll be almost 100% by this weekend!” said Marquez. “I will arrive in Italy for the race weekend a little later than usual as I will use the time to have more physiotherapy on my shoulder.

“Misano has a lot of braking and is a smaller and slower track compared to others on the calendar, so it will be interesting to ride the MotoGP bike there. Once again, the aim is to start to work like always, focused on Sunday and prepare ourselves in the best way.”

Marquez, whose run of four successive race wins ended at Silverstone, has won at Misano for the past three seasons - twice in Moto2 and once in 125cc.
