Scott Redding is seeking to further consolidate his lead at the top of the Moto2 World Championship in the wake of his dream victory in the previous round at Silverstone.

Redding gave the British fans plenty to cheer as he registered a memorable win on home turf and the title pace-setter hopes to put more daylight between himself and Pol Espargaro at Misano this weekend.

The 20-year-old is in the form of his life and leads the series by 38 points as he attempts to secure the Moto2 crown prior to his switch to MotoGP in 2014 with Gresini Honda.

"To win at home and extend my championship lead was a great feeling, but it's back to work this weekend," said the Marc VDS Racing star.

"We completed two days of testing at Vallelunga this week, with positive results, but now it's time to race once again.

"The goal has to be to fight for a podium at Misano and, if possible, try and finish in front of Pol to extend my lead in the championship even further.

"It's not going to be easy, but then when has it ever been easy in Moto2?"
