Bradl, who currently lies sixth in the championship standings, said after the session:

"The bike struggled under braking and I don't know why. We need to see where we can improve for tomorrow but we certainly seem to be losing a lot of time under braking and stopping the bike and it's completely different to the Sepang test in preseason. So we'll work tonight to improve the braking for tomorrow and to be closer to the top guys."

Prior to the afternoon session it rained heavily at Sepang, but with the circuit dry for the beginning of second MotoGP practice Bradl dismissed that a 'green' track could have attributed to the issue:

"The track was in a good condition after the rain and Dani was close to the lap record so the conditions were OK. We just need to find a way to improve the bike for tomorrow. We know that the weather can be a big part of the game and we have to be ready for everything. Usually I don't feel bad in the rain and I'm quite comfortable so we'll wait and see what the conditions are like."
