Jorge Lorenzo ended Honda domination of the Malaysian MotoGP timesheets by leading morning warm-up at Sepang - while factory Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi recovered to fourth place after falling on his out lap.

Rossi, who will start this afternoon's race from a season-best second on the grid, had spun off at low speed after losing the rear on the exit of turn two. The Italian eventually got the bike back to the pits and went on to finish just 0.264s from Lorenzo.

Between the factory M1 riders were Repsol Honda team-mates Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez. Yamaha Tech 3's Cal Crutchlow completed a close top five covered by just 0.392s.
