All of Friday's practice sessions for the Japanese MotoGP have been cancelled.

Wet and foggy conditions severely reduced visibility at the remote Motegi circuit, preventing use of the medical helicopter.

After waiting several hours with no improvement in the weather, morning practice - MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 - were abandoned, with a new schedule for FP2 'to be announced'.

But that proved optimistic and Race Direction has now confirmed that the afternoon sessions have been cancelled as well.
