UPDATE: All riders deemed OK.

The Japanese Moto2 Grand Prix has been red flagged on the opening lap after a nasty incident involving Esteve Rabat and Scott Redding.

Rabat highsided from towards the front of the field with his bike hit by Redding, making his return from a broken forearm - and surgery - last weekend in Australia. Alex Marinelarena was also involved and treated at the side of the circuit.

Redding, who appeared to be conscious after being pitched over the front of his Kalex and tumbling down the track, was taken on a stretcher to the ambulance.

The Englishman had returned to try and take the title fight to the final round, trailing leader Pol Espargaro by 16 points. The Pons rider just needs to raise his advantage to 25 points in the restart to be champion.

Rabat is presently team-mate to Espargaro, but is moving to Marc VDS in place of Redding next season.
