Hector Barbera has announced that he will remain with Avintia Blusens for the 2014 MotoGP season.

After spending his first three MotoGP seasons on satellite Ducatis, the Spaniard switched to Avintia and the FTR-Kawasaki for 2013.

Barbera finished fourth in the CRT standings, riding alongside Hiroshi Aoyama. Aoyama is moving to Aspar Honda next year, with his replacement still to be announced.

However former 125cc world champion and Moto2 rider Mike di Meglio is testing for Avintia at Valencia today (Monday).

Avintia is expected to continue with the FTR-Kawasaki package, having introduced a pneumatic-valve version of the ZX-10R engine during the season.
