The obvious answer is Espargaro. He was the champion, rose to the plate and did what was needed to win it. Scott wasnt far off, but it was hes championship to lose and he did lose it. If you count out the medical stuff he was still faiding away at the end of the year. Rabat was great at times, but sometimse pretty faceless in the pack, I think he is going to be real contender next year. Its good to see that top Moto2 riders are getting competitive bikes in MotoGP class.

@drg Pol is 12kg lighter than Scott. In moto3, Loi is 18kg lighter than Granado. He never beat him though... In motogp, Pedrosa is 8kg lighter than Marquez (and 23kg lighter than Redding). How would you propose to equalise things then? Lead weights in the jackets? Pre-race lipposuction? Limb amputation??? Redding is the youngest winner ever for a very simple reason. They increased the entry age. Fat blokes do win races - look at McGuinness - he's no stick insect...
