Marquez, Espargaro, Vinales in dirt track battle

MotoGP champion Marc Marquez, Moto2 champion Pol Espargaro and Moto3 champion Maverick Vinales will do battle in a dirt track event on Saturday.

The Superprestigio Dirt Track in Barcelona will feature three different categories - with the Superprestigio class reserved especially for grand prix riders.

However, after a knock-out format and individual finals on the oval circuit, the evening will culminate in a combined Superprestigio and Open class 'Super Final'. American champion Brad Baker is tipped as the man to beat in the Open class.

In addition to the three reigning grand prix champions, other riders confirmed include Alvaro Bautista, Bradley Smith, Aleix Espargaro, Hector Barbera, Alex Rins, Tito Rabat, Johann Zarco, Marcel Schrotter, Julian Simon, Jordi Torres and Jonas Folger.

Dirt tracking is great fun to watch, but can be dangerous. Hopefully nobody will suffer any injury or whatever as these are the times when daft accidents happen and end up ruining a rider's season.
