Qatar MotoGP Test: Danilo Petrucci slowed by electrical woe

Ioda Racing's Danilo Petrucci encounters electrical problems on second day of Qatar MotoGP test
Ioda Racing's Danilo Petrucci was left frustrated in Qatar on the second day of the night-time MotoGP test after encountering an electrical problem.

The Italian rider was 17th and last on the time sheets with a best lap of 1m 59.305s on the ART machine after completing 34 laps at the Losail circuit under the floodlights.

However, an electrical issue slowed his progress and the Ioda Racing team is working with the Magneti Marelli technicians to solve the problem ahead of the final day of the test on Sunday.

The team is making its 2014 debut with sole representative Petrucci after missing the pre-season shakedowns at Sepang in Malaysia in February.

“We had some electronics issue on the bike: this is only our second day of testing of the new season, we having the problems that others had in the early days of testing,” said Petrucci.

“My team and Aprilia's engineers worked with the guys of Marelli and tomorrow I hope to do many more laps than today.”
