After a strong sixth on his Moto2 debut in Qatar, World Supersport champion Sam Lowes is keeping his expectations in check heading to this weekend's Austin round.

Despite some difficulty with tendonitis in his right wrist, Lowes crossed the line in a seventh - 14 seconds from race winner Esteve Rabat, but eleven seconds ahead of the next Speed Up rider.

The Englishman was then moved up to sixth due to Takaaki Nakagami's disqualification. Austin will be another new circuit for Lowes, whose goal remains a top-ten finish.
