Valentino Rossi is pleased that Texan hero Kevin Schwantz will be present for this weekend's Austin MotoGP, at a circuit the 1993 world champion helped to design.

Schwantz missed last year's inaugural event due to legal action against the COTA, due to a dispute over promotional rights for the MotoGP. However a settlement has now been reached, with Schwantz present this weekend in his new role as an official ambassador for the state-of-the-art facility.

"Sincerely I didn't understand very well what happened last year - the problem with Kevin," said nine time world champion Rossi. "But I think it was very bad because the first guy that spoke to me about this track was Kevin, in Italy in 2008 or 2009.
