Nicky Hayden is preparing for next weekend's French MotoGP after medical checks in California ruled out any serious issues with the swollen wrist experienced at Jerez.

"Basically the doctors here in California agreed with the doctors from Clinica Mobile and after doing some MRI and scans it is nothing so serious," said the Drive M7 Aspar rider.

"Seems that I've just irritated the joint somehow during qualifying - it not clear how - producing a lot of inflammation in the joint, which caused pain and swelling of the whole hand.

"They did some treatment and injections to calm it down and now it is matter of doing therapy and rest to let it heal for Le Mans. I hope it returns back to normal very soon. I'm back home doing therapy and trying to prepare for Le Mans."

The injury caused Hayden to miss the post-race test at Jerez.

To be frank he may be a nice guy but a good racer not really 3 wins inlcuding the one gifted to him by Colin Edwards with last one way back in 2006 and 28 podiums in 11 years which is 2.55 a year. None of it the hall mark of a great racer, his candle glimmered briefly and is slowly burning out. Sorry girls but Kenlucky Kid says it like it is and gets it right every time
