Cal Crutchlow says he cannot wait to experience his first Italian Grand Prix as a factory Ducati rider as he bids to get his frustrating MotoGP season thus far back on track.

Returning to the 'home of Ducati' at Mugello, Crutchlow is anticipating a 'crazy' weekend around a circuit that saw him on the podium last season when competing with Tech 3 Yamaha.

Indeed, Crutchlow comes to Italy looking for a timely boost following a lacklustre run to 11th last time out at Le Mans, a result that keeps him pegged back at 16th in the overall standings.

I think coming to Italy, the home of Ducati, and Mugello is a really great experience. The track was very kind to me last year, when I qualified fourth and finished on the podium with third.

"Myself and Andrea will be pushing 100 per cent to try and be competitive with the other guys on the grid, even though it's not going to be easy. I'm also really looking forward to all the support from the Ducati fans at our home race, and I feel sure it's going to be crazy!"
