Italy MotoGP: Dovizioso expecting Mugello boost

Andrea Dovizioso expects Ducati to enjoy a competitive weekend at its home Italian Grand Prix following a recent test in Mugello.
Andrea Dovizioso says he expects Ducati to 'go quite well' at its home Grand Prix of Italy in Mugello as he looks to consolidate his top five in the overall MotoGP standings.

A measure of consistency so far in 2014 having scored in each race, Dovizioso returns to Italy looking to repeat the form that has seen him score a podium already this season around a circuit he believes the GP14 will perform well at.

Indeed, as Ducati's test track, Dovizioso is hoping a private outing there prior to Le Mans will give it the advantage it needs for a competitive weekend.

“The Mugello circuit suits the characteristics of our GP14 a bit better, so I think we can go quite well during the weekend. Our approach in any case is to get the most as possible out of the bike. Last year I scored a good fifth place and I hope to do a good race again this year.

“Before Le Mans we did a private test here with some positive feedback, and now I can't wait to get to Mugello for our home race, where there is always a special atmosphere.”
