Marc Marquez says he is feeling satisfied following the first day of MotoGP action at Mugello as he put the memories last season's disastrous event firmly to the back of his mind.

The only round of his 2013 MotoGP title winning season where he suffered a crash on race day - not to mention a high-speed accident in free practice too -, Marquez admits those moments were on his mind as he began the first practice session.

However, though he freely admits Mugello is a circuit he finds 'difficult', the Spaniard was still able to put in the fastest lap time of day by three tenths of a second during the dry first free practice session.

"Today was a really good day, I began with a few questions on my mind after last year - when this track was one of those that I found most difficult - and I saw that things have changed completely after a year of experience.

"The morning went well and the feeling was good, but in the afternoon we didn't go out as it was raining on-and-off and the surface was neither fit for dry riding nor wet tyres.

"I felt very comfortable on the bike, there was a big difference compared to last year and I'm feeling much better about things and we hope to continue improving."

needs a Ducati in front of him to go a few tenths faster...a cheap rookie trick...his T3/4 sector time was basically -0.5s putting his nose in Iannones Exhaust to make it and unable to reproduce it next time round...I'm not impressed.
