Alvaro Bautista's first task during his home Catalunya MotoGP will be to decide on which front suspension to use.

The Go&Fun Gresini Honda rider, climbing steadily back up the championship standings after failing to score in the opening three rounds, explained:

"We will start the weekend making a comparison between two important suspension solutions provided by Showa, to quickly identify the best direction to take.

"The new front fork has worked very well at Le Mans, while at Mugello we preferred to race with the race the old solution.

"We must therefore determine which one is best suited to this track, which is fast and in some ways is similar to Mugello".

Bautista, the only RC213V rider not running Ohlins suspension, has recovered from his nightmare start by scoring points in the last three events, including a podium in France.

Last year Bautista crashed out on the opening lap in Catalunya, but was a winner at the circuit in 125 and 250cc racing.

"In Montmelo I've always been strong and this is a track that I really like; in addition, racing in Spain always gives me an extra motivation."
