Marc Marquez says it is business as usual following the summer break after the Repsol Honda rider blazed a trail to pole for the Indianapolis MotoGP.

The premier class world champion set a blistering lap in 1m 31.619s to claim the number one spot on the grid as he bids for a 10th consecutive MotoGP victory.

Marquez said: "I am happy to have taken this pole position, because it is important to start well after the summer break. The fundamental thing is that we have a good pace for tomorrow.

"We found a really good setup with the new layout and corners," Marquez added. "We changed a little bit from last year because it's less stop and go, and you need to keep more corner speed. So we tried to do that. And I feel good, especially for the race.

"I have a good rhythm. I feel comfortable. Tomorrow I hope for a normal race, dry race, and try to fight for the victory."

Marquez's pole time was 0.225s ahead of Andrea Dovizioso, with the pair joined on the front row by Movistar Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo.
