A dry early lap from Andrea Iannone put the Pramac Ducati rider on top of a rain-interrupted Friday afternoon practice for the Czech Republic MotoGP.

Twelfth fastest this morning, Iannone's second lap of the afternoon put the Italian 1.283s clear of nearest rival Hector Barbera, riding the usual rear-of-the-grid Open class Avintia.

After leading the morning session, world champion Marc Marquez was fastest in the wet conditions, setting a lap time good enough for third overall.

The Repsol Honda star, chasing an eleventh win in a row this weekend, was 4.667s behind Iannone's dry best and just 0.002s ahead of team-mate Dani Pedrosa.

Marquez, Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo and Pedrosa were covered by just 0.052s in FP1, but Valentino Rossi was the top M1 rider this afternoon. The Italian was fifth quickest and one-second from Marquez.

Cal Crutchlow took advantage of the conditions to provide a reminder of his talents, lapping 0.154s slower than Rossi in the wet. The M1 trio of Lorenzo, Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith followed with LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl rounding out the top ten.

Due to the conditions, none of the 24 riders lapped quicker than in FP1.
