MotoGP Brno: Valentino Rossi hurts hand in FP4 fall

Valentino Rossi falls hard in final practice for the Brno MotoGP
UPDATE: Valentino Rossi gives thumbs up as he leaves Medical Centre and has been declared fit for qualifying after checks found no fractures.

Valentino Rossi is having his left hand examined at the Medical Centre after falling in final MotoGP practice at Brno.

The Italian, currently fastest, lost the front of his Movistar Yamaha under braking and was left grasping his left hand after tumbling to a halt in the gravel trap.

The seven time MotoGP champion was clearly angry and frustrated as he made his way to a waiting scooter and was then taken, with his glove removed, straight to the Medical Centre.

The latest news is a suspected finger injury.

Alvaro Bautista fell moments later at the same corner, in an apparently unrelated incident.

He made it 240 some odd consecutive races for a reason. Raced with many injuries. This one was never going to keep him off the grid. Pace. was looking great in FP4 before the crash (on race tires) . Let's hope he can do another "Haslem" type start and get up with the leaders right away.
