Among Bradley Smith's targets for the remainder of the 2014 MotoGP season is to help Tech 3 Yamaha snatch third in the Teams' World Championship from Ducati.

The French satellite team is currently just nine points behind Ducati's official squad.

"Top five is our aim," said Smith. "Both me and Pol [Espargaro] need to push our Tech 3 team ahead of Ducati in the Teams' Championship.

"So we need to get in front of the red bikes and fifth position [in races] is a realistic goal, as is being the top satellite bike."

Smith was speaking on the eve of his home British MotoGP at Silverstone, an event he finished in ninth place as a rookie last season.

"Last year was my first British MotoGP - it was carnage inside our garage because of Mr Crutchlow!" joked Smith, referring to then team-mate Cal Crutchlow's three falls and resulting bike repairs.

"I'm looking forward to coming back with twelve months more experience and I'm also a lot happier with the bike this time around."

Smith is currently tenth in the world championship, 13 points behind Pol in seventh.
