Marc Marquez will start this afternoon's British MotoGP having been fastest in every track session he has taken part in this weekend.

The reigning world champion, seeking to bounce back from his first defeat of the season at Brno, moved to the top of the warm-up times with eight of the 20 minutes remaining.

Marquez - who dislocated his shoulder in warm-up one year ago, but still battled Jorge Lorenzo for victory to the final turn of the race - improved further on his final lap to finish the session 0.315s clear of Lorenzo.

Movistar Yamaha's Lorenzo had been fastest until Marquez made his move, but still appears uncertain if he should race the soft or medium front tyre. Lorenzo will start alongside Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso on the front row.

Eighth on the grid Pol Espargaro posted a surprise third fastest warm-up time for Monster Yamaha Tech 3 (+0.562s) with Marquez's team-mate Dani Pedrosa going one better than his qualifying position for fourth (+0.566s).

Lorenzo's team-mate Valentino Rossi, who will make a record 246th premier-class start this afternoon, was sixth with fellow second row starter Aleix Espargaro in seventh (+0.598s). From Pol to Aleix Espargaro was covered by less than 0.15s this morning.

LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl, top home rider Bradley Smith (Tech 3), Alvaro Bautista (Gresini Honda) and Dovizioso (Ducati) completed the top ten.

Bautista suffered a fast lowside fall under braking at Vale, while Open class team-mate Scott Redding continued his impressive weekend with eleventh (+1.240s). Countryman Cal Crutchlow was just 16th for Ducati, with all four Desmosedicis outside the top nine this morning.

Aspar Honda stand-in Leon Camier concluded his final session before a British Grand Prix race debut in 17th, with Ulsterman Michael Laverty 21st for PBM.

Alex de Angelis, who has replaced Colin Edwards at Forward Racing, suffered two falls this morning.

Much Predicted session. MM is looking solid, Jlo looking good but he has to matain his pace in afternoon when track becomes hot, Vr and DP both done well. Now the question is who is going to maintain his pace IN AFTERNOON race with hot track because Sun is out.
