Two thirds of the way through its debut Moto3 season and Valentino Rossi's VR46 outfit has parted company with team manager Vittoriano Guareschi.

The Sky and KTM backed team has enjoyed notable success in its first season, highlighted by three wins for lead rider Romano Fenati, but there were disagreements behind the scenes.

"Unfortunately we have a different team for the rest of the season and the future. Mainly because we did not agree with Vittoriano about the future, especially the technical choice.

"It is a shame because I have a good relationship Vittoriano, also before we worked together at Ducati and I've known him since we were 14 and raced together in Sport Production. I also know his brother very well.

"Our relationship will continue in a good way, but we decided to do this because we did not agree about technical choice for next season."

Looking outside of his own team, Rossi was asked for his opinion on Enea Bastianini, who has claimed three podiums during his rookie season for Gresini.

"Bastianini I think is the great surprise of this year, especially about the Italian riders, He was fast in the past but sincerely no one thought he would be so competitive in his first [grand prix] season. He rides very well and will be very strong for the future because he is so young."
