MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez predicts a tough challenge from Movistar Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo at Misano this weekend.

Rossi will be inspired by racing in front of his home fans at his local circuit, while Lorenzo has been victorious for the past three seasons.

But for Marquez the main aim is to wrap-up the 2014 championship as soon as possible, which means monitoring the points gap to Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa.

Pedrosa, the only rider to beat Marquez so far this season, is 89 points adrift with six rounds to go. If Marquez can raise his lead to 100 points over the next two events he will be crowned champion in front of his home Spanish fans at Aragon later this month.

"It will be tough [this weekend]," said Marquez. "Valentino is at his home circuit and Jorge is also strong, but we cannot forget about Dani who is second in the championship. Now my target is to try to manage that advantage and win the championship as soon as possible."

Marquez had suggested that, once the title is decided, he might give the 2015 Honda an early race debut. However he has now decided against such a move.

"I tried the 2015 bike at Brno and I liked it a lot, just the few laps that I did. But we've decided to continue with this bike and try the 2015 at the Valencia test," he said.

Marquez has his first chance to match Mick Doohan's record of 12 wins in a season this weekend.
